Encouragment?

I often come across posts on the blogs I frequent that talk about their children and how they welcome them as the Father gives them. These folks are just excited about what The Lord does in their lives and love sharing it with others. Yet it never fails that someone gets defensive and throws out accusations of said blogger pushing this way of life down other peoples throats. Although that never really is the case.

Lets say you are a Dr of some sort and you LOVE your profession. You often talk to others about how wonderful your life is, all the exciting things you did that day...and how you feel its one of the best jobs in the world.

Many would probably agree with you and commend you for your dedication and hard work.

I'm not sure anyone would say " well thats great for you, but I just dont see why you have to force it down peoples throats, I could never do that. Its each individuals choice as to what they become".......you get my point?

Why cant people just be happy for you? Why do they think its always about them? I may feel it is the best way for my family and enjoy sharing those thoughts with others, but that in no way means I am saying you must follow in my footsteps or you are wrong.

I think people get defensive when they feel threatened. They get threatened by other people's beliefs or accomplishments, so they make excuses about themselves or accuse the person of something. That's my philosophy, anyway. :-)

thank you thank you! Often people are dealing with how they feel they measure up and then put the blame on the other individual when they feel the do not. It most often is not that their opinions are being pushed on the other.

So true, and it applies to anything we chose to be joyous in- our role as mothers, our belief in Yeshua, our desire to serve our husbands. Yet the same people are also 'shoving' things down our throats, such as population control, recycling, and feminism. No different- except that their ideals are acceptable and ours are not.

I second Kristi's comment. People don't like to be confronted with our lifestyle coz it makes them question *their* lifetsyle and most people do not like that. Serene, a fellow MOMYS!

Oh that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Duet 5:29
