Rag Quilt

I found a wonderful tutorial on the most adorable rag quilt. It will be my next adventure. I love the simpleness of it as well as the fact that you do not have to add large backing, which is the hardest part for me when quilting, as it is hard to baste on a basic sewing machine.

Rag quilts are a great deal of fun. They are easy too which certainly is nice for a busy mama :)

I have made these using flannel squares and also made them in colorful strips. No need for batting if you use flannel and they are so warm and soft! For the squares, i sewed a star shape in the center of each. You can do swirls or X's or anything easy. Wash them and dry them alone about 3 times, though to fluff them and get all the string off.

Having fun.

Oh that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Duet 5:29
