Barnacles!

This morning my wonderful 9.5 son came down at about 7:00 while I was making bisquits and gravy. He asked if I wanted to play the Sponge Bob Square Pants Monopoly game he received a few days ago from his grandpa. I agreed and figured it would be good one on one quality time, as well as a bit of counting practice for him. When we stopped playing (does one ever really finish an entire game of monopoly?) I thought maybe it was 9ish or so....nope, 10:15!! I cant believe I played that game for three hours this morning.

On another not, do any of you other mothers of boys have to "re-visit" the correct way to use a toilet? Ughh! You would think its like riding a bike, once you know you know. Well apparently not around here. For the past month it has been a thorn in my side. So, it is me and five boys (yes they are ALL potty trained now, way to go Elijah!) standing around the toilet. I explain to them the mechanics of the lid "this is up, and this way is down" "This is the floor, we dont tinkle here" "This is the wall, yep try and stear clear of that as well"

Then I explain to them the pure, unadulterated joy that they would bestow upon me, if I did not have to wipe off the seat, just a few of the more than 15 times I visit the restroom in a day. I then of course threaten them with promises of the great outdoors. Cold, middle of the night trips to the back yard to releave themselves, if the wet seat bandit does not change his(their) ways!
They all agree to do better in the future, or I suspect at least until it warms up outside ;-) LOL

oh yum, biscuits and gravy. Homemade? Care to share your recipe?

How fun! I know it is easy to get carried away with Monolpoly... we have on several occassions!

Eeks, I might have to tell a certain young boy of mine to either actually go in the potty or out to the outhouse! How nice to have them all trasined!

YOU ARE RIGHT. I NEVER MINDED IF THE BOYS LEFT THE SEAT UP WHEN THEY WENT ONLY THAT THEY LIFTED IT. I LIKE TO NEVER GOT THE YOUNGEST BROKE OF THAT. JUST KEEP BEING PERSISTANT AND REMIND THEM NOW AND AGAIN AND PRAISE THEM FOR WHEN THEY DO IT.LOL

I know you all will probably think us crazy but we don’t have "boy" problems in the bathroom! Here at home and only here at home the boys all sit to do their business on the potty. :-)It is just second nature to them now they would never think of standing to go potty. In public they have always stood to pee but they still try to be careful in public too. So that’s our secret! No pee on the wall or around the rim of the potty! :-)

Aww Letisha, you have such a sweet spirit I presume you will be as patient as you need to be while he is still mastering the potty. I am not that patient, and sometimes just lay it all out there for my boys and tell them theres no turning back now. ;-? It works for me!

Gina, I have had spells where I would ask the boys to keep the seat lifted and that I would lower it when I used the restroom. I still do that at night in their upstairs bathroom, because half asleep boys peeing in the middle of the night, is a recipe for disaster.

Tiany, I have good friends who's boys use the potty sitting down for that same reason. It seems to be how they learned and it just stuck. My kids are in to much of a hurry I think. LOL

Patient? Um not most of the time! Like tonight actually, I had to hold my tongue before I said something horrible or belittling! It is frustrating. I have tried everything.. spanking included. Some days are better than others and eventually he will be completely trained, right?

Funny, Rachel has seen her brother go potty and now attempt to go standing up! Of course, she only pretends and actually sits to go. It is funny and I am soooo thankful she is trained! No accidents in a while!

Oh that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Duet 5:29
