Christmas

This is a wonderful article, that is factual yet loving and non judgmental. I say that if I had to put how I feel about Christmas into words this is exactly what I would say!

I finally downloaded and read it. Very well written. I know I have areas I still need to change/work on, but this is one area God has shown to us. We are focusing on the birth and what all that means. We are buying items for children who are without and sending it to Africa with our church. We are enjoying our time and family and not rushing around baking or buying things.

What are your plans? How are the children preparing for Christmas?

We as well will be giving what we would have spent on Christmas gifts to our children, to other children who have nothing. I want the children to really learn that giving is very satisfying and what we are called to do, no matter what the season.

My "problem" is I dont want to give my children false information on the facts surounding the birth of Christ. So I am being subjective and letting them know that such and such is not set in stone, for example the date of His birth, was He really born in a manjor, when did the wise men visit Jesus. Things like that. I just so wish that it was "set in stone" that there was a definate answer. This is my struggle.

I must say I am still waiting on The Lord to show me what He wants of our family during this season. I know that it is not lights on our home and santa, elves, reindeer and the like. Perhaps it will simply be to bless and give to others during this season.

What are some things you are doing, are you creating any knew family traditions for this time of year?

Oh that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Duet 5:29
