Dreaming of fall

I awoke this morning at 6:30 to a kitchen that was already 90 degrees. We turn all the air units off downstairs at night sense our bedrooms are upstairs. As I sat down to catch a quick glimps of the news the weather man said we should reach a high of 106. Needless to say we are hot and ready for some cooler weather. It has literally been around 100 if not above 100 for 2 months now.

The 3 oldest boys will be heading off this evening to spend two days with their god mother, they are coming apart at the seams, waiting. Nothing like hearing 1000 times a day "mom how much longer till we leave?" So until then we will be taking it very easy around here, no outside play today. Its just to hot. The boys have gotten a good start on relaxing, they seem to be pros at it!

I HAVE HAD THE WINDOWS OPEN THE LAST 2 NIGHTS AND IT WAS STILL COOL THIS MORNING BUT THE HEAT RETURNED WITH A VENGENCE TODAY. I SHUT THE HOUSE UP WHILE IT WAS STILL COOL AND THE AIR DID NOT COME ON UNTIL AROUND 3:30. THATS WHEN IT GETS PAST ALL OF THE TREES AND SHINES DIRECTLY ON THE BACK OF THE HOUSE. OH WELL IT WAS GOOD WHILE IT LASTED.

I never realized texas was so hot! I grew up in Florida with no ac in our house or car... I know how miserable it can be.

Hope the boys enjoy their time away. I will you will cherish the quiet and little girl.

Off the subject, I LOVE YOUR HARD WOOD FLOORS! I so wish we had hard wood floors instead of carpet.

Hey Latisha....you know Texas is usually not THIS hot. Last summer I remember being uncomfortable for maybe about 2-3 weeks. BUT this year has been a doozey! We have hit a couple of records this year with temperatures hovering between 100 to 106 for 2 1/2 months with NO rain in sight. Many towns are in stage 3 or 4 droughts. I think today it hit 103. sigh

Oh that there were such an heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments always, that it might be well with them, and with their children for ever! Duet 5:29
