4 Days and counting

Nothing yet...still holding strong. This is definately a strange pregnancy for me. I have been having cramps (like the monthly kind) I dont remember that happening before. I had them so bad in the middle of last night that it woke me up. The other thing is that her boney behind is so crammed into the top of my stomach it feels like she will burst through at any moment.

I fianlly have gotten around to going through the boxes of baby girl clothes and am washing and putting them away today. Eve helped me go through it yesterday and she found a hat that she just loved

Isnt she a cutie pie? I really could just eat her up!!

I am working on planning our backyard farm for this year. Calculating up costs and determing what we will attempt. Our first concern is tilling the land for the garden, this year it will be very big. I am so excited and so is Devon. Then a few weeks after we get that all tilled up and the fence around it, the chickens will arrive. We are planning to have 10 layers in one chicken tractor for eggs of course, and then every four months I am going to raise 30 broilers. So we will have an additional tractor for the broilers. This will be our first dealings with chickens and yes we will butcher them ourselves. So it should be very interesting to say the least!

Some other things we want to add as we go this summer are bees (on a very small scale and only for pollination) We want to add some fruit trees and berry bushes around the property as well.

HOW EXCITING!THE ANTICIPATION! I WAS OVERDUE WITH BOTH OF MY GIRLS. THERE IS THIS GIRL I WORK WITH AND HER AND HER HUSBAND ARE EXPECTING THEIR FIRST BABY. SHE IS NOW AROUND 7 MONTHS AND IS STARTING TO GET A LITTLE NERVOUS. I TOLD HER THAT EVERYONES EXPERIENCE IS DIFFERENT BUT ONE THING FOR SURE IS THAT WHEN SHE GETS TO THE POINT WHEN THE BABY IS DUE THAT SHE WILL BE READY TO GET IT OUT AND GO THROUGH ANYTHING TO DO IT. AND THAT NO MATTER WHAT HER EXPERIENCE IT WILL ALL BE WORTH EVERY BIT OF IT. GOOD LUCK AND KEEP US POSTED!

Audrey,

Are you delivering at home with a midwife or in the hospital? Might I suggest talking to your dr/midwife about the cramps you are having? I'm not a dr. myself, but they have me concerned. (Although, didn't you say that with your others labor began at transition?)

Also, if you think you are definitely ready for delivery, fasting might help get things going. With my last, I fasted for 10 -12 hours the day before I was due and was in labor by 5 a.m. the following morning.

During the time I fasted,I drank a Pregnancy Tea with red raspberry leaves, alfalfa, stinging nettle, & peppermint sweetened with stevia, honey, or sugar. I made a 2 quart pitcher of this concoction and left the tea bags in it, so it kept getting stronger the more it sat. (This recipe is from a dear friend of mine who has 10 children.) It helped with the pain of delivery also. My sixth baby's delivery was remarkably pain free, the midwife kept watching me because she could not believe that I was actually in labor!

I hope everything goes well with your delivery! I will keep you in my prayers. I can't wait for my seventh (due in Sept.)!

Blessings,
Heather (mommy of 6, soon to be 7)

I have the raspberry tea, that I am not drinking as much as I should I will have to get myself in there and brew some. No pian huh?!? Sign me up. I think I have the most painful labors ever known to woman. ;-)

I dont think I could fast because I am hypoglycemic. Infact I havent eaten enough in the past few hours and have the shacks as we speak. I would be a melted mess if I waited 10 hours LOL

I have a midwife who will deliver me at home. I dont believe there is anything to be concerned about at this time. I think she is just getting into position. The cramps are not constant just sparatic, I just found it odd last night that it hurt so bad it woke me up, it lasted about 5 minutes then went away. If it were long term and did not subside, I would be concerned.

Now I'm off to see where I can get the rest of the ingredients for that tea! No Pain....I signed my name twice LOL ;-))

I love to hear about your plans for the garden in your backyard farm! Makes me long for spring a little! ;)
You're so close - hold fast. Close in, surround yourself with your family. What a beautiful, exciting time!
You are in my prayers.
p.s. - Eve is the cutest!

With my last pregnancy I did drink my raspberry leaf tea faithfully 3 times a day. Gotta strengthen the uterus, helps with labor, etc. Then my SIL gave me some alfalfa tea with rasp, nettle, and other ingredients in it to drink. Oh I really enjoyed those warm cups of tea relaxing periods of my day.

Too bad it did not help me with him being OP!

I know your time will be here shortly. It may not be pain free at the moment, but it sure is blissful when you are holding your newborn, huh? Pain? what pain.

Audrey,

I just wanted to let you know that I tried your recipe for Baked Oatmeal and it was wonderful! Most of my children liked it, it was even good made with soymilk. I have to bake with that due to my 4 yo dairy allergy. She cannot have any milk, period, not even goat's milk.

And just so you know, the pregnancy tea is even good iced down. I drank it like iced tea. The very first time I used it with my fifth baby I went into labor that very week, that was my first painless delivery. My fourth baby was induced using pitocin and that was the most painful labor I have ever experienced. After that, I decided to go natural with herbal remedies and homebirths.

I also understand if you can't fast. After fasting for 10 hrs,I had to stop because I had a mild headache and was extremely hungry! But at least it worked, I had such awful round ligament pains that I would have to jump into a hot bath just to relieve them.

Again, I'm praying for you and your pain. I hope the pregnancy tea works as well for you as it did for me!

Blessings!
Heather
